GRADES & CLASSES WE TEACH

Pre-K

We will work in center where students can practice writing, reading and this will help them adapt to the school setting as they keep going into kindergarten and 1st grade.

PreK is also filled with dramatic play, here you can be a thing you want, you can be a doctor, a firefighter and so much more.  As a pre-K teacher I will use the student’s enthusiasm and curiosity to learn new things everyday. Students will not only grow academically, but they will also grow spiritually.

2nd, 3rd & 4th Grade

In third & fourth grade, your children start putting the learning pieces together to take on more complicated assignments. As they continue to apply the basic skills they learned in first and second grade, they begin to do some work independently rather than with the explicit directions given in earlier grade levels.

The third & fourth-grade curriculum focuses on learning about the past, present, and future. Literature, social studies and even science follow events over time, such as observing the phases of the moon or how rocks erode into sand.

5th & 6th Grade

Our Students learn skills that will enhance our learning experience throughout our school lives. One of the highlights of 5th and 6th grade is our Outdoor School field trip. We get to experience learning through nature. Being in a multigrade classroom gives each child a glimpse into skills they have already mastered or skills they will soon learn in subjects such as math, reading, science and social studies.

In class we learn how to be scientists in our lab experiences, how to be proficient public speakers through class presentations, how to work as a team in our P.E. class, and how to show Christ in every action we take. Our 5th and 6th grade classroom is a phenomenal place to learn!

7th & 8th Grade

Being a middle school student can be a daunting thing. There are fears, doubts, and many questions a student will have during this period of their lives. In my classroom, I make sure to build an environment that is not only conducive to learning, but a place where your child will feel comfortable and safe. My students are encouraged to question what they see and hear, and to think for themselves.

Teaching Bible, Math, Science, History, and English allows me to work with my students in many different ways. It could be through class discussions, community service, class projects, and sometimes field trips. Ultimately, my goal is to not only prepare them academically for High School, but to introduce to them our wonderful and loving Jesus, who will help create in them a character of love, acceptance, and forgiveness.
